The National Anthem of New Zealand

"God Defend New Zealand, God Save the Queen" is the national anthem of New Zealand.

The song was adopted as national anthem of New Zealand in 1940 (national hymn)[note 9],1977 (national anthem)[note 9]. The lyrics was written by Thomas Bracken (English version) Thomas H. Smith (Māori version). The music was written by John Joseph Woods.
